Does anyone have any tips or ideas on how to fix this? If there's another tool that can separately change the serial number that would be cool as well. Even when editing the 20 character string in memory, the spaces at the beginning get removed when I flash the SSD. However, my serial number is actually 12 spaces + 8 characters, using all 20 characters. I'm looking for a way to trick the program to let me use spaces or input 0x20 somehow.ĮDIT: Using Cheat Engine to force the serial number length to be a specific value, I was able to flash with a serial number under 10 characters. However, it keeps changing it to remove the spaces and adds # characters to the end to fill the empty space.

I tried adding spaces to both the front and back of the serial in the "Begin Serial", "End Serial", and "Serial Mask" options within the program and also within the. Yes, normally I would try to pad it with spaces. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it. I have not yet touched J1 or J2, though I believe they are for serial and JTAG.

However, SM2258XT Easy Tools recognizes that the SSD is in “ROM Code Mode.” I have tried other SM2258 and SM2258XT tools and I get the same error. Self Test Result also gives me this “ISP mode” error.Īt this point, whether or not I have the ROM pins shorted, the same thing happens. If I go back to test and click on the "N" on drive 1, it says “It is not ISP mode!!” and displays only the FLASH and Total LBA. If I go to “8P RDT Result” and click “Scan Drive” it says “Ready!” If I click “All Port Detail” it says “Read Mark Bad Info Fail !!” which I have never seen before. However, when I open MPTool, the SSD does not show up on Port 1.

Based on my information, I decided to use the SM2258_B16A_FWQ0824C_MPQ1016A MPTool. (The capacity is also only 1023MB.) I think that’s what I want to happen. When I plug in the SSD through SATA with the J3 pins shorted, the model name changes to SM2258AB-80-10000000 and the firmware is 20141211. I found the ROM pins marked as J3 on the board. I determined that for my hard drive to be flashed, I need to short the ROM pins. I am trying to flash my ADATA SU800 128GB using MPTool.
